The dynamic LOTCA is a series of cognitive tests that allow the therapist to assess patients with neurological deficits to obtain a detailed cognitive profile that allows for planning of treatment and support interventions. The DLOTCA builds on the research used to develop the original LOTCA series and includes a dynamic component that provides the ability to measure learning potential and recognize mediated thinking strategies. In addition, it enables the therapist to determine the client's level of awareness of their condition and cognitive impairment.
DLOTSAIntended for use with clients aged 18-69. It consists of 28 subtests in 7 cognitive domains: orientation, awareness, visual perception, spatial perception, praxis, visual-motor construction, and thinking.
DLOTCA-G (for Geriatric Use) Designed for use with clients 70 years of age and older and specifically targets physical and mental factors that may accompany aging, offering larger components, reduced graphic detail, multiple choice questions, and shorter administration time. It consists of 24 subtests in 8 cognitive domains: orientation, awareness, visual perception, spatial perception, practice, visual-motor construction, thinking and memory.
Each version was designed to provide standardized testing procedures and established norms for systematic data collection in cognitive assessment. Published studies are available upon request.
