The checkerboard test is a manipulative dexterity test that contains twenty-five holes with randomly spaced slots and pegs that are keyed along one side. Before inserting the pegs, they must be turned so that they match the hole.
This procedure measures the speed of performing fine motor skills by examining both sides of the body, and conclusions can be drawn about possible lateral brain damage.
The test requires more complete visual-motor coordination than most of our pegboards and has been used in several neuropsychological tests, in student laboratories and as a screening method in industrial settings.
The Grooved Pegboard comes complete with pegs and an examiner's guide with norms.
Pegs are conveniently stored under the sign.
