The speech therapy probe for "R" sound placement is made of stainless steel and has two working ends.

To position the "R" sound, the probe’s ball is inserted under the tongue. By touching the lower surface of the front part of the tongue, rapid movements of the probe to the right and left induce tongue oscillations. The child simultaneously says "ddd" or "t" at a fast pace, with the mouth slightly open in a smile and the tongue touching the upper gums or alveoli.
