The design of the aneroid barometer includes a receiving part with an arrow and a scale, which is connected to levers and springs. In the receiving part there is a metal box with a vacuum, which reacts to changes in atmospheric pressure: when the pressure increases, the box shrinks, raising the arrow, and vice versa.
