Children's Day is a commemorative date that is celebrated annually in honor of children, the date of which depends on the country. In 1925, the International Children's Day was first proclaimed in Geneva during the World Conference on the Protection of Children. Since 1950, it has been celebrated on June 1 in many countries. World Children's Day is celebrated on November 20 in honor of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, adopted by the UN General Assembly on November 20, 1959. In some countries, it is Children's Week, not Children's Day. In Ukraine, Children's Day is celebrated on June 1.
